Please familiarize yourself with the following details to help make the process as smooth as possible. The following information is to help you to prepare for your medical. Our clinic is e-Medical enabled, which means we will be submitting results electronically to Immigration.,

All applicants must submit the application first before booking
For women: If you are on your period, it is advisable that you do not book your immigration
medical exam.
Notify our office how many people in the family are requiring an immigration medical exam, as well as how old are each of the applicants. We only accept Debit.
Please make sure that you really need this medical exam as we cannot issue a refund if you end up not needing this medical.

What to bring to your appointment:
- Your Passport.
- For immigration medical exam you need not to bring any photograph, we will click it here for you.
- Please bring if you have the Referral Letter which has NZHR # (New Zealand Health Reference Number) or NZER # (New Zealand eMedical Reference Number)
- Please bring prescription glasses, if you are using.
- No need to be fasting. You can have your regular meal during your exam day.
- Bring all the prescription medication on the day of examination.
- Bring the consultation reports of your past surgeries or completed treatment if you have any.
- IME physical takes two to three hours for the whole procedure, kindly prepare yourself and be patient, we will appreciate your cooperation.
- All the payments are in debit.
During the medical exam:
The office assistant will first measure your height and weight. This is done while you are still dressed. The doctor will then meet you and ask you some questions about your health and explain the examination procedure to you. You will then be left alone in the examining room to undress.
When the doctor sees you again a few minutes later, he will examine the following:
- Throat, ears and eyes
- Neck
- Lungs
- Blood pressure
- Heart
- Abdomen
- Reflexes
- Breast examination is not done unless there is a history of breast cancer or a suspicion of breast cancer based on the provided history.
Vaginal or rectal examination is never done.
Undressing:
You will need to undress for the examination, as required by the standards set by the immigration authorities. Men are asked to undress to their shorts and then sit on the examining table. Women are asked to undress down to their undergarments and are given a gown to wear.
Chaperones:
Dr. Vijay Sodhi (who is a male physician) will have a female chaperone present while examining all female applicants. If you wish, you may additionally have a female relative with you in the room. The objective is to make you as comfortable as possible during the examination.
AFTER PHYSICAL EXAMINATION
- Different Visa categories require different blood tests.
- We will guide you where to go for your blood works and Chest X-Ray.
- X ray and Labs comes directly to clinic.
- Do NOT need to call or follow-up until Clinic or CIC will contact you.
- Submission time line is 7-10 days with effective on appointment day so do not delay your xray and lab otherwise Clinic is not responsible for any delays in your process.
Please note: doctor can order other lab tests as required as per examination findings.
Once you have done your medical exam at our clinic it is your responsibility to finish your blood, urine tests, and chest x-ray in a timely manner. Our clinic is not responsible for following up with you if you have completed your tests. If you do not complete your tests in a respectable time frame, you will encounter major delays with your medical process and immigration application. You can help expedite your file by getting everything done as soon as possible.
If you receive an email from immigration requesting you to do additional testing, please call our office to set up an appointment. Please note this visit will be an additional charge.
The final decision is made exclusively by New Zealand Immigration, based on the medical facts collected by the doctor, not on the doctor's opinion or recommendation. After the report is submitted, the doctor has no further access to the case and is not informed about the outcome of your application. You will receive an answer directly from New Zealand Immigration.

• You will complete a form asking your information and sign a declaration from IRCC.
• We will take your digital photo and your height, weight, blood pressure, and we will test your gross vision and hearing.
• Our Physician will conduct your physical examination.
• You will pay for your visit, receive your receipt, and proceed to the laboratory in the building to do your blood work and Chest X-Ray (if required).
• Your test results will be sent automatically to us by the laboratory.

• Fasting is not required.
• All test results will be sent directly to our clinic.
We follow IRCC guidelines in requesting additional tests, prior medical reports, or referring you to a Specialist, due to your medical condition. The cost of these additional tests or referrals required to complete your IME is your responsibility and is not included in the IME fee.
Please be aware that your exam will be on hold without your Chest X-Ray results. If you decide to postpone your Chest X-Ray until after the birth of your child, we will provide you with a “Pregnancy Deferral Letter” for your records. This is your proof that your IME has been done, but that you have chosen to postpone your Chest X-Ray.
• It is possible that IRCC will request further information, tests, or reports from you after they process your IME. IRCC will contact you directly with a so called “Furtherance” request by email or posted letter.
• You will be notified directly by IRCC concerning the outcome of your application.
